Toronto Raptors swingman RJ Barrett will be sidelined for the remainder of the preseason, the team revealed on Tuesday. This decision comes after Barrett sustained an injury during Sunday's preseason matchup.

Per the team, Barret has a sprained right acromioclavicular joint, which is a joint where the collarbone meets the shoulder blade at the top of the shoulder. Barrett was injured in the second quarter of Toronto’s 125-98 win against the Washington Wizards. He led the Raptors with 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting in the victory.

Last season, Barrett averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game for the Raptors. He is a key part of Toronto’s core, which also includes All-Star forward/guard Scottie Barnes and guard Immanuel Quickley. Toronto opens its regular season on Oct. 23 vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers (7:30 ET, NBA League Pass).
