The Golden State Warriors will pay tribute to Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Jerry West, who was a key member of the Warriors' Executive Board from 2011-2017, by featuring a special "JW" court decal at Chase Center for the duration of the 2024-25 season.

The Warriors will debut the decal and hold a moment of silence for West prior to Friday’s preseason finale against the Los Angeles Lakers (

) at Chase Center. Prior to the game, Warriors guard Stephen Curry will be presented with his 2023-24 Jerry West Clutch Player of the Year Award, an award appropriately named after “Mr. Clutch.” West passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 86.

West joined the Warriors as an Executive Board Member on May 20, 2011, and served in that role through the 2016-17 season, a span that included five consecutive playoff appearances, three NBA Finals appearances and two NBA titles. West, who had previously been inducted into the Hall of Fame as a player in 1980 and as a member of the 1960 U.S. Men’s Olympic Team in 2010, recently became the first three-time inductee into the Hall of Fame when he was honored as a member of the Class of 2024 as a contributor, recognizing his front office contributions to the Warriors, Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies.
