New Delhi: Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma is on the verge of breaking a record as he is just five sixes away from becoming the Indian player with the most sixes in Test cricket. The current record is held by former opener Virender Sehwag with 91 sixes, while Rohit has hit 87 maximums in 104 innings. Leading the overall list of most sixes in Tests is England all-rounder Ben Stokes with 131, followed by New Zealand's Brendon McCullum with 107 and Australia's Adam Gilchrist with 100. Rohit Sharma's impressive batting skills have put him in contention to claim the top spot in this prestigious list.
With the kind of approach Rohit has shown in the ongoing Test match, there is a possibility that the right-hander surpasses Sehwag in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. During his knock of 11-ball 23 in the first innings, Rohit hit three sixes. In the first Test, Rohit didn’t hit any sixes.
