In a surprising move, former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer was sold to Punjab Kings for a staggering price of Rs 26.75 crore in the IPL 2025 Auction at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah. This bid marks the second highest amount ever paid for a player in the history of the tournament, following Rishabh Pant's record-breaking deal.
All the teams were running behind the star batter, Punjab Kings won the bid after a stunning bid. A video of Shreyas Iyer’s bidding war has surfaced on social media from start to end, where the prices got high from 2 crore to 26.75 crore. It was a wonderful display by the IPL franchises, many fans think that the bid was unexpected.
