New Delhi: Sri Lanka’s batting sensation Kamindu Mendis has achieved a remarkable milestone by reaching 1000 Test runs in just 13 innings, joining the elite club alongside the legendary Don Bradman. Mendis' incredible feat has solidified his status as a star player in international cricket.

The 25-year-old broke the record previously held by Pakistan’s star cricketer Fawad Alam who got to the five-hundred mark in 22 innings, Kamindu Mendis has now joined another elite list at the fourth fastest in the all-time list of fastest batters to five test centuries.
On Thursday, Mendis created a world record for the most successive fifty-plus scores since debut, scoring eight half-centuries after his first match against Australia two years ago.
